Nathan Hale's Brandon Roy: Happiest Man On The Planet
HILLSBORO, Ore. — It had been a little bit since Brandon Roy was part of a big game -- a few years, actually. There were some nerves, of course, but the former NBA All-Star turned Nathan Hale head coach found the groove again as soon as he stepped foot in the gym Friday night.
It was hard for anyone here not to get excited. Liberty High School was packed. The hype surrounding the Les Schwab Invitational championship game was inescapable. All that remained was finding out who would win the top 10 showdown of No. 8 Nathan Hale (WA) and No. 2 Sierra Canyon (CA), and which No. 1 player — Michael Porter Jr. (2017) or Marvin Bagley III (2018) — would reign king of the court in front of a standing-room-only crowd.
