Towson Nicolas Timberlake and Charleston Ben Burnham have been selected as CAA weekly award recipients in men’s basketball for their performances.
RICHMOND, Va. (Dec. 27, 2021) – Towson senior Nicolas Timberlake and Charleston freshman Ben Burnham have been selected as Colonial Athletic Association weekly award recipients in men’s basketball for their performances over the last week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nicolas Timberlake, Towson

Timberlake is the third Tiger to win Player of the Week honors this season thanks to his standout performance in Towson’s 69-52 win at Navy on Wednesday. The guard from Massachusetts scored 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting and 5-of-6 from three while adding four rebounds and three assists in a 17-point road victory. Towson leaped to No. 62 in the NET rankings with the quality victory.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ben Burnham, Charleston
Freshman | Forward | Fort Mill, S.C. / Carmel Christian School
Burnham earned his second Rookie of the Week selection this year and Charleston’s sixth in the season’s first seven weeks after helping the Cougars battle out a road victory at Old Dominion on Wednesday. The forward from outside Charlotte scored 10 points and added seven rebounds in Charleston’s 82-80 win over the Monarchs in Norfolk. Burnham was 4-of-8 from three and 2-of-4 from distance in the victory.
