RICHMOND, Va. (Nov. 29, 2021) – Towson senior Cam Holden and Charleston freshman Reyne Smith have been selected as Colonial Athletic Association weekly award recipients in men’s basketball for their performances over the last week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Cam Holden, Towson

Senior | Guard | Forsyth, Ga. / Mary Person (UT Martin)

Holden helped lead Towson to a 2-1 week with wins over Penn and New Mexico by averaging 16.0 points, 12.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.7 steals per game. The senior from Georgia posted a performance of 20 points, 19 rebounds, and eight assists in Tuesday’s victory over Penn, making Holden the first Division I player since 2011 to record those totals in a game. Holden enters Monday ninth nationally in rebounding average (11.0) and fifth in double-doubles (4).

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Reyne Smith, Charleston

Smith wins CAA Rookie of the Week honors for the third-straight week to begin his collegiate career after going 8-for-13 from three and averaging 16.5 points per game in a 1-1 week that included a victory over SoCon preseason favorite Chattanooga. The freshman from Australia led the Cougars in scoring with 18 points in the win over the Mocs and contributed 15 at Oklahoma State. Smith enters Monday third nationally among freshmen with 19 made threes.
