CAA Basketball Postseason Awards 2024: Hofstra Star Tyler Thomas CAA POTY

The CAA Men's Basketball Postseason Awards were recently announced and featured record breaking selections such as Tyler Thomas as Player of The Year. This earns Hofstra its third straight POTY of the year selection and the first CAA program to do so in more than 20 years. 

Thomas is a graduate transfer from New Haven and is the third leading scorer in the NCAA this season averaging 22.5 PPG for Hofstra.

Drexel’s Amari Williams also made history being the first player in CAA History to three-peat as CAA Defensive Player of the Year. The 6-foot-10 senior forward led the CAA in blocks averaging 1.8 blocks per game along with 7.8 rebounds per game. 

Charleston Men's Basketball, who is the No.1 seed in the  2024 CAA Tournament Finals, made waves with third year head coach Pat Kelsey being named Coach of The Year.

How To Watch The 2024 CAA Men’s Basketball Tournament

The first three rounds, including the quarterfinals, will be streamed on FloHoops and the FloSports App.

Both the semifinals and championship game will be available on the CBS Sports Network. 

CAA Men's Basketball Tournament Schedule

All Times Eastern

  • Round 1 will begin Friday, March 8 with game one at 2pm Game two will be played at 4:30pm
  • Round 2 will begin Saturday, March 9 with four games from 12 p.m.-8:30 p.m. 
  • Quarterfinals will begin Sunday, March 10 with four games from 12 p.m.-8:30 p.m. 
  • Semifinals will begin Monday, March 11 at 6pm and 8:30pm 
  • The championship game will begin Tuesday, March 12 at 7 p.m.

Where Is The 2024 CAA Men’s Basketball Tournament

The CAA men’s tournament will be returning to Washington, D.C. All games will be held at the Entertainment and Sports Arena. 

When Does The 2024 NCAA Tournament Start?

The tournament will begin with Selection Sunday on March 17, followed by the First Four on March 19-20. 

After the opening round is complete, the field will be set with the top 64 teams and the first round will start on March 21-22.

What Is Selection Sunday?

Selection Sunday is the day the NCAA committee releases the full tournament bracket initial seeding of all 68 teams. 

Thirty-two teams will automatically qualify for the tournament by winning their conference tournament. 

That leaves 36 other teams fighting for an at-large bid from the selection committee, which is considered through multiple stats and rankings to determine who receives the at-large bid.
