Marquette Women's Basketball Schedule 2023-2024: What To Know
Marquette Women's Basketball faces Illinois in a big nonconference game in early November. Here's a look at the schedule.
The Marquette Women’s Basketball team won 21 games last season and reached the NCAA Tournament as an at-large team. It’s been a run of prolonged success for Marquette coach Megan Duffy, who is entering her fifth season.
Duffy inherited a strong program from Carolyn Kieger, who left to take the Penn State job following the 2019 season. Since taking over, Duffy has the best winning percentage of any Marquette coach. Her record is 87-37 (70.2 percent), and she is 53-23 in BIG EAST play. She has led the program to three NCAA Tournaments and likely would have made four, if not for the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Marquette received top-25 votes in the preseason Women’s Basketball Coaches Poll but will start the year unranked in that poll and the AP poll. The Golden Eagles hope to build off the momentum of the 2022-2023 season, which saw them stun No. 3 Texas, as well as BIG EAST juggernaut No. 4 UConn.
Marquette is picked to finish third in the BIG EAST this season.
Returning is Jordan King, who made the All-BIG EAST first team in 2023 after averaging 15.9 points.
Before Marquette enters conference play, the Golden Eagles will play preseason AP Top-25 Illinois on Nov. 11 on FloHoops and the FloSports app. The Illini enter the season ranked No. 24.
Marquette also will compete at the Fort Myers Tip-Off in November.

When Is The BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament?
BIG EAST teams will compete to be the automatic qualifier for the 2024 NCAA Tournament beginning March 8 in Uncasville, Connecticut. The BIG EAST Tournament championship game is March 11.
When Is The 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament?
Selection Sunday for the NCAA Women’s Tournament is March 17, 2024. The First Four will tip off March 20, with the Round of 64 beginning March 22.
